A Call for Emotional Restraint and Legal Trust in Troubled Times

A Call for Emotional Restraint and Legal Trust in Troubled Times

I normally do not comment on political events out of habit being in Uniform for more than half of my life till now. But I feel like airing my concern now that we are witnessing heightened tensions in media debates and on the street. The triggers seem to be the recent majority Hindu centric events like opening up of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, permission for and start of pooja ceremonies in the Gyan Vapi Complex in Vyas Tehkhaana and the general tendency of political discourse in the election year.
My point is short amd simple – we have to keep our emotions in check and trust the legal process for resolution of any conflict. There are legal recources for all kinds of hurt sentiments, loss of real estate and disputable administrative decision taken by bureaucrats and/or politicians. Spoiling of organisational atmosphere and personal relations due to overheated arguments will not serve any purpose. So we must keep our cool and maintain civility in our official and social interaction. I am sure most of us follow these commonsense principles but I see no harm in reminding!
The restraint also needs to be maintained on the social media platforms. We should not get provoked by hurtful comments/reels/videos or posts and vent our spleen unnecessarily. Many of the handles trying to provoke strong reaction are likely to be fake, motivated by political reasons; and worst – by the enemies of the State. Better to avoid fissiparious and divisive dialogues. You can be identified and get emotionally, and God forbid, even physically hurt.
Moreover one must understand that under the existing IT and Cyber laws punishment can be awarded after prosecution for disturbing peace of the community.
I am sure we will have an atmosphere conducive to peace in the coming exam season — both for the students and politicians!
Take care and Happy Hunting!
